Simplex Bicycle


In 1887: the factory was established in Utrecht Stationdwarsstraat (Station Road) with the name "Simplex Automatic Machine Company".
A British founder, Charles Bingham.

1890: Simplex bicycle production started in full / intact.
Piet Dekft Leeuwenberg from its founder and Charles Bingham entered into the board of directors in 1893. Family Leeuwenberg become deputy directors until 1954.
Simplex bicycle production has reached 5,000 in fruit tahun1896 bicycle after moving places in the Overtoom, Amsterdam. This year Simplex gain status as the largest bicycle factory in Amsterdam.

In 1899: this bike factory named NV Simplex, factory machinery, bicycles, and motorcycles.

Year 1908: Simplex launched a tricycle model (especially for transporting the sick). This model is indirectly to transport over long distances.

Year 1939: Simplex introduced an aluminum bike with a weight of 12 kg.
Production stopped in 1943 due to the war between the end of 1945.
Year 1952: Simplex join Locomotief, and around 1960 had produced 55,000 bikes. Means has provided kontriusi 10% of the production bike in Belanda.Produksi Simplex increased to 70,000 after moving to a larger factory in Jalan Pilot (Pilotenstraat Amsterdam).

Year 1955: the year of production of the One Million Simplex bicycle unit.

Year 1967: Simplex, Locomotief and Junke merged into a joint bicycle factory Netherlands (Verenigde Nederlandse Rijwielfabriek)

Year 1968: Gazelle took over the company's Simplex

Year 2000 Simplex Gazelle sells brand name on a joint two-wheeler buyers from Germany (ZEG) is also active in the Netherlands
